Student Support Services

Health

A registered nurse (RN) is on duty five days a week. In addition to caring for sick children, the nurse takes care of dispensing medication, updating student health records, working with the county nurse on hearing and vision evaluations of students, and keeping emergency records on faculty and staff. The nurse also coordinates “Red Ribbon Week” and the school milk program. The nurse gives instruction to students on health related issues, such as proper washing of hands. The nurse is available to work with teachers to schedule visits from health personnel, such as dentists.

A separate health suite is equipped with two beds, a sink, a refrigerator, filing cabinets, a desk and computer.

We have developed a school Wellness Policy.

Food

Students eat lunch in the classroom. Hot lunch is offered two times a week from local establishments.

Remedial

The reading resource teacher works on specific skills development with individuals and small groups of students as designated by the classroom teacher.
