Dress Code

Our School Uniforms

Beginning on the first day of school and ending on the last day of school, students must be in full uniform. Winter and physical education uniforms are mandatory. Summer uniform is optional. All uniforms are purchased from Flynn and O’Hara.

More specific details of the uniform dress code can be found in the Parent/Student Handbook.

Our Students

In the current school year, 339 students (165 boys, 174 girls), primarily from Baltimore and Harford Counties, attend St. Stephen School. Students are enrolled in classes from Pre-K 3 through 8th grade. Upon graduation our students attend area high schools including but not exclusive to John Carroll, Calvert Hall, Loyola Blakefield, Archbishop Curley, Notre Dame Prep, Mercy High School, The Catholic High School, and area public and magnet schools. Most of our students are members of St. Stephen Parish, but that is not a requirement for attending. Through opportunities, such as our Prayer Partner Program and recess time, students are able to interact with each other. We encourage our students to participate in projects and programs that benefit the larger global community. We believe our students to be our most valuable and cherished asset.

Goals for the Student

  • To develop a Christian attitude of love and respect for God and the things of God;
  • To love and respect their parents and teachers and their representative as well as themselves and their fellow students;
  • To show respect for their own property as well as that of others at home, at school, in the parish, and in the local community;
  • To be conscientious in preparing assigned lessons to the best of their ability.

Awards

Awards are given in each grade level to the most helpful student and the one showing the best effort. A special Good S.A.M. Award is given to a student in each grade three times a year. This award is given for service, attitude, and manners. First and second honors are given to students in grades 6 -8 when report cards are distributed.

Graduation

A graduation ceremony is held for both the kindergarten and the eighth grade students at the end of the school year. All obligations must be in order, such as tuition and fines paid, all books returned, etc.
